As we bid farewell to the colder winter days, we welcome spring, a season of renewal, growth and new beginnings. Spring signifies a fresh start, making it the ideal time to rejuvenate your body and mind and invite lightness into your life.
ashaya is inspired by Ayurveda, a traditional system of medicine that originated in India thousands of years ago. A fundamental aspect of Ayurveda is its deep connection to the changing seasons. In Ayurveda it is thought that our bodies are influenced by the rhythms of nature, and these rhythms are particularly apparent in the transition between seasons.
Transitioning from the sluggishness of winter to the vibrancy of spring can sometimes be challenging. Our tips for staying balanced and energised offer ways to start afresh with purpose, they have been inspired by Ayurveda, as well as our pursuit to feel more balanced in daily life.
- Seasonal Cleansing or Detoxification. Consider doing a cleanse to kickstart your digestion and rid your body of accumulated toxins. We recommend incorporating more seasonal fresh fruits and vegetables in your diet. In Ayurveda, “Panchakarma” is type of detoxification and rejuvenation treatment designed to cleanse, purify, and restore balance in the body.
- Engage in More Intense Exercise. We recommend you take advantage of the milder weather to engage in more intense workouts. Outdoor activities, such as hiking, running, or cycling, can boost your circulation, energy levels and mood. Joining a gym or trying a new class, can also be a great way to create a lasting routine.
- Stimulate with Breathwork or Yoga. Breathwork and yoga are powerful ways to find balance and feel more grounded. Incorporating deep breathing exercises into your daily life can help calm your mind, reduce stress, and improve your overall mental clarity. The practice of yoga, shares many of the benefits of breathwork, as well as can enhance flexibility and strength. Both practices perfectly align with the season of renewal and growth. Ayurveda also encourages the practice of meditation and yoga as ways to stay in tune with the natural rhythms of life.
- Reconnect to Nature. The season of spring brings to life nature with revived colours and scents. Reconnecting to nature can be deeply rejuvenating. Some of our much-loved outdoor activities are walking, gardening, and enjoying picnics with friends and family. The simple act of being outdoors, and breathing the fresh air or feeling the ground beneath your feet, can have a profound impact on allowing you to feel more balanced and connected.
- Prioritise Hydration. Staying hydrated is key in all seasons, but with the rising temperatures, it’s a good reminder to ensure you’re staying well-hydrated throughout the day. You can also enjoy herbal teas and infused waters for a refreshing twist. We enjoy In-Flow Period & PMS Relief or Re-Glow Perimenopause Relief and mix this with water to start each day. We love this simple act of nourishing our body and mind to gently bring our hormones into balance.
Spring is a season of transformation, offering us a chance to welcome a lighter life. We encourage you to embrace the opportunity to grow, renew and feel more balanced this spring by adding our tips into our daily routine.
